Arik Chen Photography

About me

(In Hebrew)
My name is Arik Chen. I live and creat in Israel.
I am engaged in art and in photography, in particular, for more than 20 years.
I studied photography during the years. I graduated from NYI (New York Institute of Photography) and took
photography courses in the College of Geographic Photography in Israel.
Last year I won award winning for my photography and few of my pictures were
published in the National Geographic magazine (the Israeli issue).
On February this year I presented an exhibition in Tel Aviv, called "Facing India",
which shows the fascinating people of India and their culture.
I travel a lot around the world and my journeys are the major source of my photography.
The main two subjects I photograph in my travels are: Nature, especially, unspoiled nature (like Iceland etc.)
and people in their natural environment and culture (India, Morocco, China, Japan, etc.).
I also love abstract, especially, abstract in nature. Abstract themes are popular subjects in my photography
as well as in my paintings.
As Elliot Erwitt said:“Photography is an art of observation” and “…it is all about the way you see things!”
My photography is based on profound observation and on making the picture utilizing an interesting composition
and a unique point of view.
